This is one of our specialities. We have a system that we have imported from England that is very efficient and effective in removing wallpaper and not damaging the wall. Once the wallpaper is removed we wash the wall to remove any excess glue that may remain. Then we prime the wall with an oil based primer to ensure there is no glue bleed through to ruin the topcoat. Top coat is then applied. 

The staircase frequently offers the first impression of a building. With scratch-resistant and waterproof paints and varnishes, we give your staircase a brand new radiance!

What we do - the most important step.

1)It is always preferable to remove everything from the room. If this is not practical then we will put the heavy furniture in the middle of the room and cover it with plastic. Rugs that can be removed will be. Floor areas are tarped. 

2)Decide which hooks, curtain and blind brackets or shelves are staying and remove those not wanted. Will pictures be returned to same place on walls? If so we will keep the holes as markers.

3)Remove any covers on the light and power switches.

4)Prepare the surfaces for painting by filling nail holes with appropriate fillers sanding and spot priming them. Scraping loose paint as well.  

5)With all of the surfaces prepared for painting we sweep down all surfaces to remove the dust. We also make sure all stains are sealed with a stain sealer prior to any painting with water based paints. Hanging lights will also be covered. 

6)Glossy trim surfaces are scuff sanded for proper adhesion, if they are to be painted. 

7)Any other speciality prep that is needed is done.

This is a no "short cut" method that leads to a quality job. Others may skip some of these.
